By Grace or By Faith

In this paper, I intend to prove that God never intended to do away with His commandments or the Old Testament.  The only part of the Old Testament that was done away with were the laws directly concerning the worshipping system in the Jewish Temple that was located in Jerusalem, before Rome destroyed the Temple in 72 A.D.

In the Bible, all things written must be taken in context with all other things written.  This means, if something written in the Bible seems to be contradictory to something written elsewhere in the Bible, this does not mean these things written are contradicting each other.  In fact, they are complementing each other to give us the fullest understanding possible.

An example:

The Old Testament says:”It has been said, Whosoever shall divorce his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:”

While in the New Testament Jesus says:

“but I say unto you, That whosoever shall divorce his wife, except for the reason of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery.”  (Matthew 5:31-32)

Notice that the Old Testament tells us a man can divorce his wife, and the New Testament tells us a man can divorce his wife, but adds the condition that allows a divorce.

“They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?” (Matthew 19:7)

“He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.” (Matthew 19:8)

“The Pharisees also came unto Jesus, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for every reason? (v3)   And Jesus answered and said unto them, Haven’t you read (in the Old Testament, that God which made them at the beginning made them male and female, (v4)   And said, For this reason shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall (cleave to) marry his wife: and the two (male and female) shall be one flesh? (v5) Therefore, they are no longer two people, but one person. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” (v6)  (Matthew 19:3 – Matthew 19:6)

Notice the bold phrase: “for every reason”.  This is a trick question, but it shows us that there is a reason for divorce in the Old and New Testaments.  This is proof that God did not do away with the Old Testament, but men teaching others in Christian Churches deceived people into believing the Old Testament should be ignored.  Yet, Jesus referred to the Old Testament many times, and told us it will never be removed.

“Do not think that I (Jesus) have come to destroy the law (the Old Testament), or the prophets (in the Old Testament): I have not come to destroy (the law), but to fulfill (the law). (v17)  Because truthfully I say unto you, Until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter or one little piece shall pass away from the law (the Old Testament), until everything in it is fulfilled.” (v18) (Matthew 5:17 – 18)

“And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than one little piece of the law to fail.” (Luke 16:17)

Therefore, the churches who dare to teach lies to deceive people will be judged by Jesus!  And the people who believe those lies will be judged by Jesus at His Coming!

“Blessed are they that do God’s commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city, (v14)  because outside the city (New Jerusalem) are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves a lie and makes a lie.” (v15) (Revelation 22:14 -15)

He lie being taught for a thousand years by Rome is “We are under Grace and not the Law”.  This is only a half-truth.  Just like satan deceived Eve with a half-truth, The Roman Church has deceived the world with this half-truth.  The truthful half of their lying teaching is “We are under Grace”.  The lying half of their teaching is “We are not under the Law”.

The New Testament is very clear.  Jesus and the Apostles teach us both the Law and Grace exist and influence our Salvation.  The Law shows us right from wrong; while Grace is a gift from God the Father, through Jesus His Son.  The gift of Grace is God giving a person (man or woman) the ability to read, understand, and utilize the Word of God by wisdom, to help teach the people the truth about God the Father and His Son Jesus the Christ.  This gift is to help the blind being led by blind guides in the churches not fall into a pit.  The pit being spiritual hell after physical death.

I have complied verses from the Bible, on the topics of Grace and Faith, for your investigation and study, to convince yourself about the things I have written above concerning this matter:

God bless you
